Celebration of Black Voices (SoCal)
Come join us for an incredible in-person event, the Celebration of Black Voices in SoCal! This is a unique opportunity to honor and uplift African American voices in technology. Get ready to learn more about African American Vernacular English (AAVE), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), and why it is essential to the black community. We’ll be showcasing talented artists and speakers who will share their stories and experiences on the Black culture.
During this event, you will have the opportunity to participate in a research study helping to improve Automatic Speech Recognition technologies. Your involvement will include completing daily surveys for three weeks through a mobile application. Compensation will be provided to ALL participants. More details will be provided at the event.
