WHO & WHAT: Next up for film club is a documentary rooted in resistance, resilience, and reclamation.
Farming While Black follows the story of Leah Penniman—author, activist, and co-founder of Soul Fire Farm—and the rising generation of Black farmers reclaiming land and legacy across the United States.
At a time when less than 2% of farms are Black-owned, this film digs deep into the historical erasure of Black agricultural traditions and uplifts the powerful resurgence happening now. From soil to soul, Farming While Black is a call to remember—and to reimagine.
We’ll gather to watch the film in community, then hold one of our signature post-screening conversations—a space to reflect, question, and connect through the stories that ground us.
