June 18th – CicLAvia – South LA

On Sunday, June 18; between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.CicLAvia-South LA, presented by Metro, welcomes everyone of all ages and abilities to its’ 46th car-free open streets event taking place in South Los Angeles along Vermont Ave, between Exposition Blvd to the north and Century Blvd to the south, for the public to jog, ride, bike, skate, run, walk, skateboard, spectate, and enjoy the 6.2 mile route.

A highlight of CicLAvia – South LA features Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell’s 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration & Resource Fair, a free community event that raises awareness of the historical impact of Juneteenth and creates a space for redefining what freedom means today. This joyous event includes live performances, food trucks, activities, and access to community and county services, and creates a necessary space for celebrating joy and redefining what freedom means today with empowering discussions, performances, and activities. Available resources include on-site record expungement, mental health services, support with tenant protections and more. All are welcome to attend but for those interested in accessing on-site services at the Resource Fair, registration is required: https://mitchell.lacounty.gov/juneteenth2023

With Hubs and plenty of activities and programs along the route, CicLAvia-South LA will be both fun and engaging for all to enjoy. Hubs are walking zones (bike dismounts) and meeting points along the route offering additional programming and activities. CicLAvia-South LA will have four hubs: Exposition Park Hub located on Vermont Ave between Exposition Blvd and MLK Jr Blvd; Vermont Slauson Hub located on Vermont between Slauson Ave and Gage Ave; Westmont Hub located on Vermont between Manchester Ave and 92nd St; and Juneteenth Hub located on Century Ave at Western Ave. Hubs have family-friendly activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, and first aid. Free pedicab rides, sponsored by AARP, are available at each information booth.

CicLAvia–South LA; Sunday, June 18, 2023; 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. – 6.2 miles of open, car-free streets, transforming them into public parks for the day. Jog, ride, bike, skate, run, walk, skateboard, spectate, and enjoy the route for all to enjoy – free of charge. Show up anywhere along the route on Vermont Ave between Exposition Blvd to the north and Century Blvd to the south, and Century Blvd between Vermont Ave and S Van Ness to the west, at any time and have fun!
