Prosperity Market Brings Black-Owned Businesses, Food & $20 Shopping Incentives to South LA

Prosperity Market is hitting the road with a new biweekly neighborhood market series, bringing local businesses, food vendors, and community-centered shopping experiences to Crenshaw and South Los Angeles. Plus, the first 25 shoppers at each stop can receive $20 to spend at the market.

Supporting Black-owned businesses just got a little easier for South Los Angeles residents.

Beginning November 5, 2026, Prosperity Market is launching a new mobile market route with stops at Crenshaw Square and Lauren Halsey’s Sister Dreamer Sculpture Park.

The neighborhood market series will take place every other Thursday, bringing opportunities to shop, connect with local entrepreneurs, and support businesses rooted in the community.

And there’s an added incentive for shoppers: During November and December, the first 25 visitors at each market stop will receive $20 in Prosperity Bucks to spend with participating market vendors or at the food truck.

Bringing the Market Directly to the Community

Prosperity Market has built its mission around increasing access to Black-owned businesses and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with customers.

Rather than requiring shoppers to travel to a traditional marketplace, its mobile market model brings businesses directly into neighborhoods.

The new route includes two locations that hold special significance in South Los Angeles.

The first stop is Crenshaw Square, where Prosperity Market is partnering with Earle’s on Crenshaw.

The second location is Lauren Halsey’s Sister Dreamer Sculpture Park, in partnership with the Summaeverythang Community Center.

Together, these locations offer opportunities to bring commerce, culture, and community engagement into familiar neighborhood spaces.

The market series is scheduled to continue for four months, with additional dates to be announced.

Get $20 to Shop at Prosperity Market

To celebrate the new mobile market route, Prosperity Market is offering a special incentive during November and December.

The first 25 shoppers at each market stop will receive $20 in Prosperity Bucks.

Prosperity Bucks can be used toward purchases at the market and/or food truck.

The shopping incentive is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited quantities at each location.

The November and December Prosperity Bucks are made possible through support from the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.

For shoppers interested in participating, arriving early is recommended.

Prosperity Market Now Accepts SNAP/EBT

Another important announcement is that Prosperity Market now accepts SNAP/EBT.

This addition expands payment options for eligible shoppers and supports the market’s broader goal of making locally available food more accessible.

For community members who rely on SNAP benefits, the new payment option provides another opportunity to shop with participating food vendors.

Prosperity Market’s mobile market series represents more than another place to shop.

Black-owned businesses have historically faced challenges accessing capital, commercial space, and other resources needed to grow.

Community-centered marketplaces can help address some of those barriers by creating accessible spaces where businesses can build relationships, introduce their products, and expand their customer base.

By partnering with established neighborhood organizations and cultural spaces, Prosperity Market is helping bring economic activity directly into South Los Angeles communities.

BlackNLA Take: Keeping Our Dollars in Our Communities

At BlackNLA, we believe supporting Black-owned businesses is one of the most meaningful ways to strengthen our communities.

What makes Prosperity Market’s latest initiative particularly exciting is its neighborhood-focused approach.

By bringing its marketplace to Crenshaw Square and Sister Dreamer Sculpture Park, Prosperity Market is making it easier for residents to support local entrepreneurs while creating opportunities for community connection.

The addition of SNAP/EBT acceptance and the $20 Prosperity Bucks incentive makes this initiative even more valuable.
