What: An event to educate the Black community about the health risks posed by toxic chemicals in beauty products specifically marketed to Black women and the Non-toxic Black Beauty Project and empower them to become “Better Black Beauty Ambassadors”. Attendees will learn how to host a Better Black Beauty information session with their friends, family, and community.
Who: Community members and health workers, health advocates, beauty industry professionals, healthcare providers, and anyone concerned about Black women’s health.
When: Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 9a to 1p

Why: Certain ingredients found in hair relaxers, skin lighteners, and hair dyes specifically marketed to Black women contain toxic chemicals linked to breast and ovarian cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, maternal health complications, and other health concerns. As Black women, we need to be well informed about these ingredients in order to make better, safer choices to protect our overall health and well-being, from head- to-toe!
Get access to easy-to-understand science-based information and resources about the harmful chemical ingredients found in haircare and personal products, the Non-toxic Black Beauty Database, and the list of non-toxic Black-owned beauty products that Black women can trust.
