Ronald K. Brown / EVIDENCE Brings African American Dance, Rhythm and Storytelling to The Wallis

Acclaimed choreographer Ronald K. Brown and EVIDENCE, A Dance Company are coming to Los Angeles for three performances at The Wallis in Beverly Hills, October 8–10.

Known for blending contemporary dance with African and African American traditions, EVIDENCE uses movement, rhythm and storytelling to explore Black history, culture, community and the human experience. The Wallis describes Brown’s choreography as work that transforms sound into movement and memory into presence. The Wallis

The Los Angeles program features three works:

Tender Warriors — a work celebrating legendary jazz drummer Max Roach and incorporating Afro-Cuban rhythms.

Clear as Tear Water

Upside Down — a work centered around striving toward one’s destiny, personal growth and the strength found through community. The Wallis
