Los Angeles is preparing for a week celebrating Black innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, and creativity as Black LA Tech Week 2026 returns with networking events, educational workshops, industry conversations, and community experiences.
Taking place October 11–18, the weeklong celebration will bring together Black founders, entrepreneurs, technology professionals, students, creatives, and business leaders for events designed to build connections, share knowledge, and create opportunities within the technology industry.
From artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to gaming, beauty technology, and entrepreneurship, Black LA Tech Week offers something for established professionals and those just beginning to explore careers in technology.
And you don’t have to work in tech to participate.
What Is Black LA Tech Week?
Black LA Tech Week is a community-driven initiative focused on increasing visibility, access, and opportunities for Black professionals and entrepreneurs in technology.
Held alongside the larger Los Angeles Tech Week, the event brings together organizations and community leaders committed to strengthening Black participation in the city’s growing innovation economy.
Rather than operating as a traditional conference in one location, Black LA Tech Week features events hosted by different organizations throughout Los Angeles.
Programming includes professional networking, workshops, technology demonstrations, entrepreneurship discussions, and opportunities for students and families to learn about careers in STEM.
According to organizers, the initiative’s 2025 programming included:
- 5 events
- 12 participating Black organizations
- More than 2,000 attendees
This year’s expanded programming reflects an effort to connect more people with the opportunities emerging across Los Angeles’ technology and creative industries. Black L.A. Tech Week
Building Opportunities for Black Angelenos
Technology continues to influence nearly every industry, from entertainment and healthcare to education, retail, finance, and small business.
But access to technology careers, investment capital, professional networks, and entrepreneurship opportunities isn’t always equally distributed.
Black LA Tech Week aims to help address those challenges by creating spaces where Black professionals can exchange ideas, develop relationships, learn new skills, and connect with people already working in the industry.
For entrepreneurs, the week offers opportunities to learn about emerging tools and meet other business owners.
For students and young professionals, events provide exposure to technology careers and potential professional connections.
And for established professionals, the programming offers opportunities to expand networks and explore new developments in their fields.
Artificial Intelligence Takes Center Stage
Artificial intelligence is one of the major themes of this year’s programming.
Several events focus on making AI more accessible to everyday users, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
The AI Academy: AI Made Simple for Everyone introduces participants to artificial intelligence and its practical applications.
Meanwhile, the Microsoft Copilot AI for Business Workshop explores how businesses can use AI-powered tools in their daily operations.
Other sessions examine the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, product development, and emerging technology.
These workshops may be particularly valuable for business owners interested in using technology to improve productivity, develop new services, or remain competitive.
Black Creativity Meets Technology
Black LA Tech Week isn’t limited to software developers and technology executives.
The schedule also includes events exploring the relationship between technology, entertainment, beauty, wellness, gaming, and fashion.
The New Beauty Counter: Wellness + Beauty Tech examines innovation in the beauty and wellness industries.
Be Playful: Black Public Media Games Showcase highlights the intersection of Black storytelling, creativity, and gaming.
And Tech Meets Couture brings technology and fashion together for an evening celebrating innovation and creative expression.
These events demonstrate how technology is creating opportunities across industries where Black culture and creativity already have a significant influence.

Why Black LA Tech Week Matters
Los Angeles has long been recognized for its influence on entertainment, music, fashion, and culture.
But the city is also home to a growing technology economy, with opportunities in artificial intelligence, gaming, digital media, aerospace, healthcare technology, and entrepreneurship.
Black LA Tech Week highlights the people and organizations working to ensure Black Angelenos have opportunities to participate in—and help shape—that future.
Whether you’re a college student exploring career options, a small business owner curious about AI, a creative interested in emerging technology, or an experienced professional looking to expand your network, the week offers opportunities to learn and connect.
BlackNLA Take
One of the most exciting things about Black LA Tech Week is that it brings technology conversations into spaces that feel accessible to the community.
You don’t need to be a programmer, startup founder, or technology executive to benefit.
If you’re curious about AI, interested in starting a business, looking for professional connections, or simply want to see what Black innovators are building in Los Angeles, this is an event worth exploring.
Black innovation isn’t new. But creating more opportunities for Black Angelenos to participate in the technology economy is something worth celebrating.
