Over the past two years, It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU) has been actively engaged in service learning trips to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where we collaborate with local community partners, conduct outreach, engage in canvassing, and perform needs assessments. During this time, we’ve established a meaningful partnership with the Terence Crutcher Foundation, which shares our mission of creating just and liberated communities free from racial violence and harm.

The Terence Crutcher Foundation is dedicated to building power, advocating for policy changes, fostering community development, and promoting education. They work collaboratively with community members, law enforcement, and policymakers to identify, prevent, and confront racial inequities in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and across the nation.

In the face of adversity, the Terence Crutcher Foundation has produced remarkable outcomes, rising from the ashes. As February marks Black History Month, we believe it’s a fitting occasion to host a discussion about the legacy of Black Wall Street, its relevance today, and the path forward for our community.
